This historical natural-history plate presents Holothuria tremula, a sea cucumber, as a single elongated specimen curving across a warm cream ground. Its distinctive S-shaped silhouette is rendered in coral red, salmon pink, and deeper crimson, with delicate shading giving the body a soft sense of volume.

Fine hair-like structures, small projections, repeated markings, and the intricate cluster at the upper end reveal the close observational character of the illustration. The generous surrounding space gives the specimen an unusually graphic presence. The original plate carries the inscription Ic. Rer. Nat. Tab. XLIV. above and the handwritten identification Holothuria tremula beneath the figure.
