Mappa Totius Mundi is an elaborate 1775 double-hemisphere world map published in Augsburg by Tobias Conrad Lotter and based on the cartography of Guillaume de L’Isle. Two great hemispheres dominate the composition, surrounded by finely engraved geographic names, coastlines, latitude and longitude lines, exploration routes, and smaller polar maps.

Soft hand coloring in pink, green, yellow, and teal separates continents and territories against a warm paper ground, while ornamental ribbons and an elaborate central cartouche bring a distinctly eighteenth-century decorative character to the sheet. The map also preserves areas of geographic uncertainty that had not yet been fully charted, making it both a visually impressive work of cartography and a fascinating record of how the world was understood in the late eighteenth century.
