This eighteenth-century botanical plate presents Marcgravia umbellata through an orderly arrangement of narrow green leaves and an intricate hanging flower cluster. A pale woody stem divides the foliage into two rhythmic rows, with strong central veins emphasizing the long, tapered shape of each leaf.

Below the foliage, numerous slender stalks radiate outward in an umbrella-like formation, ending in small green buds and delicate yellow-centered flowers. A separate dark reddish-brown fruit appears above the main specimen, while the handwritten botanical identification and plate number 143 preserve the archival character of the original sheet.
