Saïmiri à Dos Brûlé presents a small primate balanced across a horizontal tree branch, reaching toward a slender twig with one hand. Its body forms a compact profile above the branch while the exceptionally long tail curves downward and sweeps broadly across the lower part of the composition.
A dark cap and pale face contrast with a richly colored rust-red back, gray-brown body, and warm ochre limbs. Fine linear marks describe the direction and density of the fur, while the branch is rendered with comparatively restrained engraving. Generous cream negative space and surviving publication inscriptions preserve the clear, archival character of this nineteenth-century zoological plate.
