This eighteenth-century botanical plate presents Achras mammosa through a substantial study of foliage, fruit, and seed. Broad leaves in muted olive, ochre, and deep brown spread from a textured woody branch, their prominent central veins and fine secondary lines giving the foliage a strong graphic structure.

A large reddish-brown fruit hangs beneath the branch, its softly modeled surface contrasting with the flatter treatment of the leaves. Two separate cut-seed studies appear to the right, accompanied by a minute botanical detail. Set against warm cream paper, the earthy palette and carefully isolated forms give this scientific illustration an unusually bold yet restrained character.
