This eighteenth-century botanical plate presents Capparis hastata with a slender central stem, elongated olive-green leaves, and a distinctive cluster of soft pink flowers. Fine pale filaments extend outward from the blossoms and terminate in small golden anthers, forming an intricate, almost weightless canopy above the plant.
