Created in 1976 for NASA Ames Research Center, Bernal Interior by Rick Guidice presents an imaginative vision of everyday life inside a rotating space settlement. Landscaped neighborhoods, forests, rivers, and homes extend across the inner surface of a giant sphere, illuminated by natural sunlight entering through a large central opening.

Produced during NASA's Space Settlement studies, the illustration blends scientific thinking with architectural illustration, offering an optimistic interpretation of future human habitats beyond Earth. More than four decades later, it remains one of the defining images of 1970s space art.
